But what exactly does non-invasive ultrasound technology look like, and how does it work? Keep reading for all you need to know.
What is HIFU?
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound and targets layers of skin just below the surface, causing the tissue to heat rapidly, triggering the body’s natural regenerative process to lift and tighten.
While it may seem counterintuitive to damage the cells, the production of more collagen that begins provides structure to the skin, which is where the results and benefits are seen.
How does HIFU work?
There are three essential layers of the skin (superficial, deeper dermis and SMAS) and as we age, the structures of these weaken, causing visible signs of ageing, wrinkles, and fine lines.
Amazingly, the HIFU technology of the Ultraformer III targets all three of these layers, addressing laxity, sagging, and ageing. It’s a wonder treatment!
The SMAS layer connects to your muscle
What are the results of HIFU?
The efficacy of this technology is being applauded the world over, with most tWR clients experiencing the most pleasing results in:
Is there any pain or downtime associated with HIFU?
At the WHITE ROOM clinic, we aim for all our clients to experience the most comfortable treatment possible. It is important to keep in mind that the treatment will be different for everyone.
In terms of downtime, you may experience mild redness and swelling across the treatment areas, however, this won’t last longer than a day or two. In some cases, some very mild and temporary bruising and numbness are also possible, but very uncommon.
Ready to take charge of those niggling areas?
We’re offering 20% off our Ultraformer III treatments this month (ends 29 February 2024).

Make oil your friend
Oil based cleansers can seem a little counterintuitive, especially for the acne or blemish prone skin types. But they are anything but! Oil based cleansers possess amazing superpowers when it comes to breaking down grime, dirt, SPF and makeup and is an essential step to any double cleansing regime year-round. In summer, the skin harbours more sweat making an oil based cleanser a total non-negotiable when it comes to the daily cleanse. Use it at night or after the beach and thank us later. We love Medik8’s Lipid Balance Cleansing Oil ($52) and Environ’s Pre-Cleansing Oil ($64).
Protect
This one goes without saying, but investing in a daily SPF that you actually want to wear is key to optimum skin health, particularly in the summer months when pool and beach days or lingering long lunches mean more time in the sun and outdoors. When selecting an SPF, it's important you love the texture and how it appears on your skin and under makeup. The SPF rating should be TGA-approved too. Whether you’re after the perfect solution to sit under makeup or to protect yourself all day long at the beach, we’ve got you covered…literally. Shop them here.
Amp up the hydration
Hours spent outdoors and swimming or those extra champagnes over the festive season can strip the skin of essential hydration levels. Adding in a hydrating serum or treatment product to your regime is the perfect way to combat this and ensure skin stays plump, dewy, and radiant all season. We’re looking to skin saviours such as the Hyaluronic Boosting Serum by PCA ($220), Mesoestetic Antiaging Flash Ampoules ($124) and Environ’s Focus Care Comfort+ Anti-Pollution Masque ($90) to soothe, nourish and hide a multitude of sins.
Sleep on it
It’s called beauty sleep for a reason. When we sleep, our bodies do their best work at repairing and rebuilding and your skin is no exception. Make the most of your precious 8 hours and load your skin up with products that support rejuvenation. From our night care products through to more targeted skin solutions like Cosmedix’s Reboot Serum ($62), Simply Brilliant ($115), Environ’s Focus Care Comfort+ Vita-Enriched Colostrum Gel ($134) or crowd favourite Liquid Peptides ($98), let us tuck you in.
Start on the inside
No holistic beauty regime would be complete without some gut loving goodness and our friends at Imbibe have got just the tonics to help support. Beauty Renewal ($48) is the ultimate 3 in 1 concentrate for a healthy gut and glowing skin while Miracle Collagen ($45) supports the body’s natural collagen production function for healthy skin, nails and hair. The perfect combo for a little pre-bed tonic which is particularly useful during the summer party season!

Looking to achieve the perfect pout this year and are new to the world of lip fillers? Let this be your guide.
What are my treatment options when it comes to lip fillers?
Dermal filler is the most widely used treatment solution for correcting and enhancing the lips. Injected into the skin, they are designed to effectively reduce the appearance of unwanted wrinkles, contour and create volume.
Dermal fillers are a soft injectable gel consisting of stabilised, non-animal hyaluronic acid. The gel is tissue-friendly and closely resembles the hyaluronic acid that exists naturally in the body. It is long-lasting but not permanent.
What should I look for in a practitioner?
If you’ve never had lip filler (or dermal filler) treatments previously, we recommend doing your research! Look for a fully qualified cosmetic nurse or doctor with experience and from a credible practice. Most importantly though, take your time to seek out real patient results. Word of mouth and recommendations from others are a good place to start too! Click here to see our client results.
What is the cost?
The costs involved in cosmetic injectables vary greatly depending on the areas treated and the amount of product used. Click here to see a pricelist list for various packages offered, as well as individual pricing for dermal fillers at Perth’s the WHITE ROOM clinic.
Are there any side effects or downtime I need to prepare for with lip filler treatment?
If it’s your first time having fillers, you’re probably wondering how long it’s going to take for your lips to fully ‘settle’.
Firstly, the swelling is going to be the worst on the day of your appointment. It’s nothing to worry about, it’s just your body adjusting to the treatment.
Around day two or three is usually when the swelling will start to properly set in. You might also experience some bruising around your lips, but this will also fade with time. A lot of swelling and bruising will depend on your individual body and how much filler was injected but don’t worry if you look a little puffy.
By day five, the majority of the swelling should have subsided, but your lips may still look fuller than you’re used to. This is totally normal, and it can take up to two weeks for the fillers to fully settle and look natural in your face.
Lip filler swelling can last anywhere from a few days to two weeks, particularly if there is bruising involved. This is nothing to worry about and is all part of the process. The team at tWR clinic guide you through the aftercare process and is always available should you have any queries or concerns
How long does lip filler last?
Typically, lip fillers can last anywhere from six months to a year.
However, it's important to note that lip fillers are not permanent and will eventually dissolve. You may also notice that the results start to fade over time, especially if you have a high metabolism or participate in activities that speed up the breakdown of the filler, such as smoking.
If you're considering lip fillers, it's important to understand that the results are not permanent and will require upkeep. However, with proper maintenance, lip fillers can give you the lips of your dreams for a year or more.
I don’t want to look overdone! Is it possible to achieve a natural result with lip filler?
Yes! We take great pride and care in ensuring the most natural look possible. There has been a large shift away from the “overdone” look in recent years, allowing us to work with your natural beauty and help you shine with what you’ve got.
I need to undo the work of a previous practitioner, what can I do?
This is very common in a lot of our clients, and quite often we need to begin treatment by dissolving any previous product. This is a simple process but can mean 1-2 additional appointments to your treatment schedule.
Ready to get the lips of your dreams? Click here to make an appointment and be sure to check out our Lips to Love summer offer! Enhance or restore your natural pout for only $495 (normally $550), plus receive a complimentary Imbibe Collagen Lips valued $35 (only until stocks last). Offer ends 29th February 2024.

Dermal filler
Designed to create volume and contour, dermal filler is a great first port of call for jawline contouring. The soft injectable gel consists of stabilised, non-animal hyaluronic acid (HA) which closely resembles the HA that exists naturally in the body.
Used for a range of cosmetic reasons, jawline sculpting is one of the most popular modes of treatment for dermal filler with results including a restored radiance in the skin, an improvement in skin tone and texture, an increase in skin firmness and elasticity and a restoration of the skin’s moisture. Results are visible instantly and can last around 6-9 months.

ULTRAFORMER III
One of our newest skin rejuvenation treatments, the ULTRAFORMER III is the ideal solution for those looking to achieve jawline contouring with minimal intervention. Ultrasound technology lifts and tightens to create a youthful complexion and definition where you want it most. The highly precise “pulses” are designed to either remodel collagen, remove facial wrinkles and sagging skin or tighten body tissues for overall rejuvenation.
One of the best things about HIFU is that it can be used anywhere on the body too! Think abs, arms, and knees for smooth, toned, and taut limbs.

PDO Threads
Another treatment to consider for jawline sculpting is PDO Threads, where the aim is to tighten and thicken the skin. Threads are inserted into the subdermal level of the skin to promote the creation of new collagen by activating collagen synthesis. The result? A gradual skin thickening, tightening and overall rejuvenation effect.
Jawline contouring is achieved as the threads create a lifting effect and act as a support structure for the face, allowing collagen production to increase and a definition in facial profile becoming more apparent.

Nefertiti lift
Fondly named after the ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti (who was known for her elongated, thin neck) a Nefertiti lift involves wrinkle relaxer injections into the lower part of the face, jaw and neck. Results of the procedure include reduced lines and wrinkles around the lower part of the face and neck and creating a more defined jawline. What we love about this treatment is how minimally invasive yet effective it is. There is no downtime and results become visible as quickly as your usual wrinkle relaxer treatments would.

Diamond Polar Skin Tightening
There is SO much to love about diamond polar treatment, particularly for those looking to firm up sagging skin around the neck and jaw area. The combined forces of Multi-Polar Radio Frequency and Pulsed Electro Magnetic Fields cause a thermal reaction in the tissue, which stimulates the body’s natural healing response. In effect, this increases collagen and elastic, resulting in tighter and smoother skin.
This process also works to break down the volume of fat cells, offering a slimmer, more contoured shape. Plus, diamond polar is virtually painless and there is no downtime associated – win!

As always, our team is here to help guide you with the best treatment plan to suit your concerns, timeframe, and budget. Call or email the WHITE ROOM clinic to book a consultation and get started on achieving the jawline of your dreams!

However, you may be surprised to know that the benefits of wrinkle relaxer go far beyond beauty! Medical professionals and cosmetic aestheticians have been touting the medical benefits of wrinkle relaxer for a long time now. Concerns such as hay fever, chronic migraines and excessive sweating can all be treated with a little sprinkle! Curious? Read below for the full scoop and contact us for a consultation or to book an appointment.
Haytox for hay fever
While spring is undoubtedly a glorious season here in Australia, for some it signals the start of some nasty allergies. Sneezing, a scratchy dry sore throat and eyes, headaches and more - hay fever is no fun! Wrinkle relaxer can treat persistent allergic rhinitis with some amazing results.
Injected into the nasal cavity, it works to block neural transmission at the nerve endings associated with allergy. Wrinkle relaxer blocks the allergy receptors and alleviates the symptoms of hay fever.
Hyperhidrosis for excessive sweating
It's a fact of life that the human body sweats! But there are some of us who produce excessive or uncontrollable amounts of sweat, even when not hot or exercising. This can be incredibly distressing, uncomfortable, and embarrassing and with summer on the way, causes some anxiety for those who suffer excessive sweating.
Wrinkle relaxer is used to treat excessive sweating by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate sweating. Patients experience incredible results from hyperhidrosis, with relief lasting up to 8 months.
Masseter reduction treatment for teeth grinding
There are a myriad of reasons for involuntary teeth grinding, but one thing we know for sure is that the side effects can be incredibly uncomfortable. From disturbed sleep to chronic headaches, a bulky-looking jawline, damaged teeth and jaw disorders to name a few.
Wrinkle relaxer can provide immense relief for teeth grinding by reducing the masseter muscle and jaw size. The treatment takes just 10 minutes and lasts approximately 6 months. An added benefit of this treatment is a slimmer and more shapely jawline. Win-win!
Wrinkle relaxers for downturned mouth
One of the realities of ageing is loss of skin laxity, with sagging mouth corners a common occurrence. This can be particularly distressing for patients as it can create a sad or angry facial expression. At The White Room, we can treat this quickly and effectively with wrinkle relaxer where the product softens the depressor anguli oris muscle, creating a pleasant lifting effect. This treatment rejuvenates the appearance with results visible within 1-2 weeks.
Wrinkle relaxers for neck smoothing
As we age, dynamic lines and wrinkles don’t appear only on the face, our necks can be affected too. And it's not just an age issue anymore either, the rise of the digital age has created what we have now come to know as “tech neck” where strong lines form on the neck from long periods of looking down at phone and computer screens.
Fortunately, we can treat this with wrinkle relaxer, which is amazing at not only treating visible lines and wrinkles on the neck but also improving jawline aesthetics by relaxing the muscles of the neck that pull down the jawline.

As I enter my thirties, I must admit that the cleanest diet and strictest workout regime have only got me so far and that to really make a visible difference, I knew I had to add something else into the mix. Enter, TESLA Former: the muscle-building, fat-burning, body-shaping technology that has just landed at The White Room Clinic in West Leederville. TESLA Former triggers Functional Magnetic Stimulation (FMS) to contract muscles in the glutes, abdomen, hamstrings, arms, and pelvic floor. Essentially, major contractions give you great abs or a tight butt.
This is just what I needed to bring home all my hard work.
When I heard about TESLA Former, I’ll admit I had hesitations. What if it doesn’t work? Sure, I could argue that. But would I commit to a disciplined training schedule only to go home, eat cake, and expect results? No. I was all in. 10 sessions, a few days apart. With a European trip on the horizon, I was committed and motivated.
The initial session involves having a series of before photos taken, a pretty humbling reminder of the winter months we’re just seeing the back of. There’s nothing like seeing your white flesh on a giant screen to make you want to adapt your habits quick smart! With this in mind (and my afternoon cake in the bin) I got started. Here’s what I learned.

Keen to learn more about how you can achieve plump, firm and hydrated looking skin? We’ve put together all you need to know about Profhilo - your burning questions are answered…
What is it?
Put simply, Profhilo is a totally unique cosmetic injectable solution for improving collagen and elastin production in the skin. Also known as Bio Remodelling Filler, Profhilo boasts one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market and offers an incredibly effective treatment for those wanting to boost and hydrate their skin whilst remodelling ageing and sagging tissue.
How does it work?
Filler, made with a patented NAHYCO® technology, is injected just beneath the skin. This is made from a unique injectable gel that has a prolonged stimulating activity on the skin and, when injected, stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity whilst also improving and restoring firmness.
What areas does it treat?
Profilho can treat a range of areas of concern including the face and neck. It can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees, and abdomen area. Profhilo is suitable for both men and women and offers skin benefits for patients of all ages - which is why we love it so much!
Do I need it?
If you’re looking to revitalise your overall appearance and treat skin laxity, Profhilo could be the perfect treatment for you. Whilst plumping and firming the skin, this treatment also offers a range of benefits that include:
How quickly will I see results?
As with any treatment, results vary depending on the number of treatments you have, your goals and pre-existing skin conditions. Your injector will always manage your expectations around your results, but we suggest having 2 treatments, 4 weeks apart. To maintain results, we recommend a treatment every 3 months after the initial 2 treatment protocol. Results are evident after the second treatment.
Is there any downtime with Profhilo?
Lumps will be evident immediately post-treatment and can last up to 24hrs - 48hrs. When it comes to aftercare, we suggest:

Not all of us have the luxury of a European summer escape right now, and if you’re anything like us, opening up Instagram is like some form of torture during the months of June and July! At The White Room, we’re not afraid of a little mystery though, and what better way to create the illusion that you’ve been relaxing in Positano than with a little wrinkle relaxer?
When treated regularly, wrinkle relaxers are an effective way of creating a relaxed and refreshed appearance, smoothing out unwanted fine lines and wrinkles and preventing static lines from forming and becoming permanent.
Once associated with a “stiff" or “frozen” appearance, wrinkle relaxer injections now offer so much more than simply preventing muscles from moving. In fact, our approach to cosmetic injectables is very understated and conservative. We’re all about enhancing your natural beauty, not freezing it!
Wrinkle relaxers work by temporarily blocking the transmitting signal between the nerve and muscle cells, which in turn prevents the muscle from contracting. When the muscle can’t contract, the appearance of the existing wrinkle is reduced.
The most common areas that are treated with wrinkle relaxers are frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet. Wrinkle relaxers are also used to treat areas of the lower face and jawline, where the treatment can also be of therapeutic benefit in alleviating jaw clenching and the pain associated with this. We also see amazing results using wrinkle relaxers for jawline slimming (masseters) and to reduce excessive sweating in the armpits (hyperhidrosis).
The effects of wrinkle relaxers can last up to 3-5 months, depending on the area treated and the dose administered.
Book in a consultation with one of our team members who will walk you through the treatment process. Here we conduct a thorough analysis of your current goals and concerns and create a bespoke treatment plan for you. This is always done in close consultation with you to manage expectations and to align with your goals and budget. Once you are happy with the approach, we get started! Click here to make a booking.
This will vary greatly depending on your dosage and type of wrinkle relaxer. Head to our pricing page for an estimate but speak to your injector for a more specific cost.
]]>Our vision at The White Room is to only offer skin technologies to our clients that are proven to bring about long lasting, visible results. We want you to feel good about what you’re investing in and confident that our team is dedicated to delivering it for you.
Without further ado, allow us to introduce you to our latest skin saviour: Ultraformer III. Here’s all you need to know about the revolutionary new skin tightening solution.
TGA approved, Ultraformer III is the latest non-invasive skin tightening treatment now available at The White Room. Utilising high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology, we are able to target wrinkles and skin laxity with precision, guaranteeing a tightening and lifting effect that is long lasting. A small, hand-held device is moved across the treatment area, with shots of HIFU emitted at regular intervals, targeting the deeper dermis (SMAS layer) of the skin. In most areas, you won't feel a thing, however at most, you may experience a hot, flicking sensation in some spots.
Our clients are reporting that the best results are visible at six to nine months post treatment. Our advice always remains that results will vary depending on the number of treatments and the existing condition of your skin. While some results will be visible immediately, a series of Ultraformer III treatments will deliver best results, as the skin will get more resilient over time. At The White Room, our approach is to design a bespoke treatment solution for each of our clients, so you can rest assured that we’ve tailormade your Ultraformer III plan just for you!
As a general guide, here’s what you can expect post Ultraformer III treatment:
The cost of Ultraformer III treatment varies depending on the treatment area. Spot treatment starts at $250, with eyes, lower face and neck priced at $1800. Courses of treatment are available at a discount when purchased up front and 10% discount applies for a package of 3 when purchased up front. Visit our website for full pricing.
One of our most popular Ultraformer offerings is the Hollywood Facial ($400), a less intensive version of Ultraformer III and perfect for pre-event skin rejuvenation. Unlike the deeper treatment, the Hollywood Facial has no downtime with results immediately visible, however the results are not as long lasting.

It's not all bad news though! With incredible advances in skincare technology, there are plenty of solutions to prevent and treat sun damaged skin. Here is our guide.
This one seems obvious but applying a broad-spectrum SPF to your face, neck, decolletage and body daily will stop sun damage in its tracks. Hitting the beach or pool? Be sure to reapply liberally and regularly.
Mesoestetic’s Melan 130 Pigment Control is a great solution for already pigmented skin (and makes a great tinted moisturiser) while Advanced Day Protect from Medik8 offers full environmental protection with their unique pollution shield and blue light defence technology.
Beauty and skincare experts all over the world will tell you that skincare application should never stop at the face. Bring serums, moisturisers and sunscreen all the way down to your chest to keep skin healthy and to ward off sun damage.
Ensuring your skincare contains a robust combination of antioxidants during the summer months will help to combat the free radicals that are generated by UV exposure. Environ’s Focus Care Radiance+ Mela Fade System or Focus Care Youth+ Seriénce Night Serum are great solutions for tackling the effects of environmental stress on the skin and perfect to keep in your arsenal for skin that is exposed to the sun regularly.
Shop our full range of serums here to find your perfect match.
Your arms and legs probably receive the most sun exposure and are often the most forgotten about when it comes to post sun care. Nourish limbs with Environ’s Body EssentiA A, C & E Body Oil treatment. Formulated to provide the skin with a large dose of vitamins and antioxidants that help energise dry and sun damaged skin, this body oil works hard to keep the skin looking healthy and supple.
Keeping skin moisturised with a hyaluronic acid serum, cooling moisturiser or an at home mask will help soothe skin that has seen a little too much sun! We love Medik8’s Hydr8 B5 Intense for a daily dose of hyaluronic acid, Focus Care Super Moisturiser by Environ for a luxurious and intensive solution and the Restore Mask by Cosmedix for a truly restorative, plumping at home treatment. Pro tip: keep your mask in the fridge for an extra soothing experience.

IPL Rejuvenation
In case you hadn't noticed, we love an “all-in-one” solution when it comes to targeting a multitude of concerns and IPL Skin Rejuvenation is no different. This revolutionary, light-based technology tackles the appearance of sun damage, dark spots, freckles, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, large pores and redness.
The greatest thing about IPL Rejuvenation is that it can be done at any time of the year, making it an incredibly popular treatment, no matter the season. With no downtime involved and results after just one session (although we do recommend 3-4 for best results), its definitely a great option for fresh, summer skin.
]]>We all know that beauty comes from within, but this is especially true when it comes to skin health. All the treatments, products and makeup in the world can’t hide the results of a healthy system so start here. A few too many winter treats may have crept in over the colder months, so make an effort to decrease alcohol consumption, lower your sugar intake and replace coffee with herbal tea. A diet full of fresh, whole foods will support a healthy gut and your whole body (including your skin) will benefit.
Months of exposing your skin to harsh temperature changes (from heated cars, homes and offices to cold and wet outdoor conditions) can wreak havoc on the skin. Congestion, dull skin tone and dehydration are just some of the effects you may notice over the winter months. Before summer really takes hold, it's a great time to invest in and plan a series of chemical peels.
These treatments are gentle and incredibly effective, designed to do the heavy lifting where regular facials can’t. We particularly love the Environ Cool Peel which is scientifically proven to safely and effectively assist in reviving, refining and brightening the appearance of skin with no downtime at all. Let our skin team guide you on the perfect combination of peels for the ultimate pre-summer glow.
The tWR. Hydra Lift & Glow is the perfect treatment at any time of the year, but we particularly love it as a pre-summer solution. Designed to deliver hydration where it is needed most and clear out the skin of any built up congestion, the advanced technology offers incredible results in one sitting, without any downtime. Impurities, dullness, dryness and skin laxity can all be treated with the Hydra Lift & Glow. Plus, you know all those pre-Christmas parties you’ve got coming up? Let this be your skin saviour!
This goes without saying, but please take this as your cue to stock up on SPF (and wear it!) for the upcoming summer months. UV damage is the ultimate anti-ager so a hardworking SPF, worn daily and reapplied regularly, will help keep sun damage, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles at bay. We have some great options at the clinic and our team would be delighted to guide you on selecting the perfect one. View our SPF recommendations here.
Now is a great time to take stock of your current regime and favour more lightweight products as the mercury rises. Lighter, gel based moisturisers over thicker and more occlusive solutions are best for allowing skin to breathe in the heat, as well as gel or light foam cleansers that won’t trap in oil and cause congestion. A vitamin C serum is also a great addition to a summer skincare regime which will deliver a big boost of antioxidants to the skin, keeping it healthy and resilient against environmental aggressors often faced during the warmer months.
Start your summer skincare journey at The White Room with our range of treatments and products that can all be tailored to meet your goals.

]]>Wrinkle relaxer is a treatment that works by relaxing the underlying muscle of the area that is treated to create a softer and more pleasant appearance. The aim of this treatment is not to freeze the face (which can happen with over treatment!) but instead to treat fine lines and wrinkles, preventing them from becoming deeper and more permanent. It is one of the safest treatments in the world, with side effects being extremely rare and minimal.
Wrinkle relaxer treatment can be applied all over the face and body, including in the jaw (masseters) to treat chronic teeth grinding and in sweat glands to treat excessive sweating.
Depending on the product used, some wrinkle relaxers can start to take effect in as little as three days, with best results visible around 14 days.
Typically, and depending on the desired effect, we see patients opting for treatment every 3-4 months. Everyone is different, with some patients enjoying the effects of their wrinkle relaxer treatment for up to 6 months, with others requiring it much sooner.
Wrinkle relaxer is administered with a very fine needle, which, for most people does not cause any pain or discomfort. You may feel a slight sting, but unless you have a low tolerance to needles, the treatment is largely pain free - and very quick!
There is no downtime associated with wrinkle relaxers. It is recommended avoiding the following for 24 hours following your treatment: alcohol, strenuous exercise, rubbing the treated area, facials, skin treatments or saunas. Some patients experience a slight tenderness at the injection site and potentially a mild headache which can be eased with paracetamol.
At The White Room, we always recommend an initial consultation before commencing treatment. This way, we can assess your goals and work with you to devise a bespoke treatment plan that aligns with your budget, timeline and what you’d like to achieve. It is also important for us to get a full picture of your health before commencing.

]]>The ultimate solution for achieving plump, dewy and hydrated skin, microneedling is an incredible treatment for so many reasons. Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling stimulates the body’s natural collagen production through the creation of micro channels within the skin. From creating plump, supple skin to treating scarring, minimising fine lines and wrinkles, evening skin tone and increasing radiance, microneedling does some serious heavy lifting when it comes to skin rejuvenation.

Prepare your skin in the lead up to your microneedling treatment by avoiding the sun and other harsh environments. This will mitigate the risk of sunburn, windburn or any other aggressors that could potentially increase sensitivity and damage the skin. This also means ceasing the use of retinoids at least 12 hours prior to your treatment.
Understanding how your skin may look and feel following a microneedling treatment will help in how you approach your aftercare. Swelling, discomfort and redness are all to be expected – but don’t go touching your face or applying every cream in the cupboard to soothe it! Patience will hold you in good stead here, and as always, if you have any questions or concerns, our team is just a phone call away.
This goes without saying following any treatment, but keeping your skin adequately protected with a good SPF is vital. Your skin will be much more sensitive to the sun, so keep a hat handy and reapply regularly!
Steer clear of any skin products that contain active ingredients or exfoliants after your microneedling treatment. To help the healing process, your skin needs gentle and soothing products that won’t irritate. This means avoiding retinol, vitamin c, AHA’s, physical and chemical scrubs and toners with alcohol. Hyaluronic acid, oil-based cleansers, gentle moisturisers, and SPF is all you need. Shop our top picks here.
In the 72 hours following a microneedling treatment, we recommend avoiding exerting the body to the point of excessive sweating or where bacteria may be present.
This includes high intensity workouts, saunas, spas and using previously used makeup brushes. Take this as our blessing to skip the gym and catch up on some Netflix instead!
If you have any questions or concerns about the healing and aftercare of your skin following microneedling, don’t be afraid to get in touch with us. Everyone’s skin journey is different and the tWR team is always here to help guide you.
For the best possible results following any skin treatment, adhering to a gentle aftercare regime is crucial. Keep things simple, avoid harsh products, stay out of the sun and practice patience. Amazing skin is just around the corner!
]]>With any injectables treatment though comes the risk of unwanted or unexpected side effects and although highly unlikely, we believe it’s important to be fully educated on any potential issues you could face ahead of your treatment. In the spotlight today is lip filler migration, keep reading as we take a deep dive into what it is, how it can be treated and how to prevent it.
Put simply, lip filler migration occurs when dermal filler has moved from where it is supposed to be at the site of injection. Lip filler migration can be easy to spot as it will appear as lumps or create a puffy appearance on the upper lip, making the lips look distorted or “duck-like.”
There are a few reasons why lip filler migration can occur. The first and most common is incorrect placement in the lips. Over injection of the lips can also cause filler to migrate as the lips are forced to stretch to accommodate more than they can hold. Using the wrong product is another common reason for lip filler migration, your injector should only be using hyaluronic acid-based fillers
Neglecting to follow the correct aftercare protocols can cause your lip filler to migrate, as the lips should not be rubbed following treatment to allow the product to settle correctly.
Fortunately, lip filler migration can be treated by being dissolved by your injector and new filler injected within a matter of weeks.
First and foremost, always advise your injector if you have existing filler in your lips to avoid overfilling. This can be dissolved and an appropriate amount can be administered for a more natural effect and to avoid migration. If a fuller lip is desired, we suggest staging your injections in smaller doses, working up to the maximum amount as guided by your injector.
When looking for an injector, always do your research! Some things to look for are before and after photos of the injectors previous work (such as below) and make enquiries about the dermal filler that they use. It should be high quality and TGA approved.
Our team are very conservative when it comes to lip filler and will always advise on injecting in stages to achieve the best result. At tWR, we pride ourselves on investing in the very best products and training so you can rest assured that you’re in the safest and most knowledgeable hands
If you’re new to the world of cosmetic injectables or lip filler, we advise booking in for an initial consultation to talk through your goals and concerns and taking the time to research the work of your injector. Book in with us here to get started.
]]>We explored our top five reasons to love Venus Viva Skin Resurfacing, and why you should consider it as part of your skin journey…
We often think only of the face when it comes to treating the skin, yet there are other parts of the body that need a little love! Backs of hands and arms are prone to sun damage and premature signs of ageing due to excessive environmental exposure, and can be effectively treated with Venus Viva Skin Resurfacing. Mild scarring and stretch marks all over the body respond well to Venus Viva Skin Resurfacing too, making it the perfect treatment for all over body rejuvenation.
No need to block out weeks of downtime in your calendar, the Venus Viva Resurfacing treatment won’t have you locked inside the house while your skin heals. Immediately following treatment, most people will experience a mild sunburn-like sensation that won't last any longer than 5 hours. Moderate redness and some swelling can last up to 36 hours, with raised, red marks that fade shortly after your treatment and skin roughness will last for only a week. That's it!
Pictured above: one of our clients neck and décolletage after just two treatments. Redness has significantly reduced, lines are softening and signs of ageing and sun damage are much less visible.
Darker skin tones rejoice! The Venus Viva Resurfacing treatment doesn’t rely on light energy (as RF is heat based), making it a safer resurfacing solution for those with darker skin types. Traditional laser therapies tend to impact skin pigment, making them unsuitable for those with more melanin.
The efficacy of the Venus Viva Resurfacing treatment means you don't need to set aside hours to have it done. A typical treatment will take between 30-60 minutes (depending on the size of the area being treated), so you can rejuvenate your skin, pick up some sushi and be back at your desk within the hour!
Believe us when we say this is a skin investment that will pay dividends. Designed to be carried out as a course of 3-6 treatments for best results, Venus Viva Skin Resurfacing will completely restore skin health as the skin is trained to repair and regenerate over time. Hyperpigmentation, melasma, fine lines, scarring and wrinkles will be a thing of the past as you welcome smooth, radiant, and clear skin.

]]>From skin tightening, to rejuvenation, plumping, filling and everything in between, there are many ways in which we can tackle the effects of ageing. At the WHITE ROOM clinic, we offer a variety of non-surgical treatment options for our clients, the most popular being PDO Mono Threads and Dermal Filler. Both have varying degrees when it comes to results, downtime, side effects and cost points. So how do you know what is right for you?
Read on for our top 5 questions you should consider when deciding between PDO Mono Threads and Dermal Filler.
Dermal filler, as the name suggests, does just that, fills space under the skin with a hyaluronic acid formula, which is produced naturally by the body but decreases as we age. Easily dissolved and reversible, dermal fillers are an incredibly popular choice for those wanting a fairly straight forward, non-surgical procedure. Dermal filler is great for those with areas of the face that are slightly sunken in and require filling for visible volume.
PDO Mono Threads are a non-surgical, minimally invasive method that aims to tighten and thicken the skin. Threads are inserted into the sub-dermal level of the skin promoting the creation of new collagen. As this new collagen production takes effect, skin gradually thickens and tightens, creating a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.
Both skin rejuvenation options are relatively minimal when it comes to treatment protocols. Dermal filler treatment requires only a needle to inject the hyaluronic acid solution into the skin to sculpt, replace lost volume and smooth.
PDO Mono Thread treatment takes anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes to complete, depending on the size of the area being treated. Both treatments require topical anaesthetic, however don’t require time off work and can be done in the chair.
With dermal filler, expect some slight swelling, bruising and redness as well as tenderness at the injection site. It is strongly recommended not to rub the face, exercise, drink alcohol or have any intensive skin treatments for 24-48 hours following treatments.
Downtime with PDO Mono Threads includes slightly more swelling and bruising than you might experience with dermal filler, and some mild pain which will resolve in a few days after the procedure.
Most people resume normal activities immediately after treatment for both dermal filer and PDO Mono Threads.
Dermal filler is typically a little less costly than a thread lift, but with results lasting for a shorter time, you may want to consider investing in a thread lift for longer results, if this is the most suitable treatment for you. At tWR, dermal filler starts from $350 and PDO Mono Threads range between $450 - $1500.
Typically, dermal filler lasts 6-18 months with the effects of PDO Mono Threads lasting 6 - 12 months. Results will always vary from patient to patient and are dependent on many factors including lifestyle, diet, alcohol intake etc. At the WHITE ROOM clinic we recommend a follow up treatment of PDO Mono Threads every 6 months to maintain the tightening effects.
Ultimately, both treatments are effective and suitable in their own right and are wonderful when it comes to achieving younger looking skin, a refreshed and relaxed appearance, reduced fine lines, improved skin tone and better facial definition. At the WHITE ROOM clinic we maintain that each patient is different, with unique needs, so we always recommend booking a consultation with one of our injectors to discuss a bespoke treatment plan that is right for you.
